I returned to the LIARS Calverton NY field for their September launch with an improved design and some valuable experience from the first two flights. It was a good day weather-wise and I was ready to try for some more altitude. I wanted to try with progressively larger motors as I still wasn't sure how the camera would react under higher G loads. This was an excellent flight with little drift. Jeff Taylor managed to position himself directly under the camera for the last few hundred feet of descent. Unfortunately I had forgotten to open the lens cover before flight. I realized my mistake just as the payload section touched down.
Note to self... :)
